CSU Faculty Newsletter from the Provost and Executive Vice President | Dec. 2025
December 9, 2025
Dear Colleagues:
I have spent the past few days reflecting on our journey as this semester nears a close, and this reflection has evoked immense pride. I am so grateful to be part of this institution and to work alongside you. When I look back on everything our faculty, staff, students, and leadership have accomplished in the past four months alone, I am in awe.
Witnessing the extraordinary excellence of this institution is a reminder that we are One CSU. It takes everyone in their respective and expert roles to drive the level of sustained success we experience across our academic and research enterprises. While each person contributes a piece of the puzzle, it is our collective passion and dedication that truly make the difference.
Below is the link to the December edition of the Faculty Newsletter. In my final fall message, I feature a book on academic freedom, Dirty Knowledge, written by CSU Department of English Chair Julia Schleck. The book was lauded by the Los Angeles Review of Books as “essential reading for anyone interested in the future of universities and society.”
The newsletter also shares the latest on CSU’s academic leadership searches, university announcements, college updates, accolades from across our institution, and a selection of recent headlines on higher ed news.

Thank you for choosing CSU.
