Lise M. Youngblade
Interim Provost & Executive Vice President
The Provost and Executive Vice President is Colorado State University’s Chief Academic Officer and second in command within the University’s administration under President Amy Parsons. In addition to the Office of the Provost’s broad scope of vice provost reporting areas and key student and faculty success initiatives, the Provost and Executive Vice President oversees the deans of all eight academic colleges, the Libraries, and Graduate School; the offices of the Vice President for Research and the Vice President for Student Affairs; and the Office of the Chair of the Faculty Council.
Interim Provost and Executive Vice President Dr. Lise Youngblade joined Colorado State in 2006 from the University of Florida as head of CSU’s Department of Human Development and Family Studies. She held that role until August 2019, when she became Dean of the College of Health and Human Sciences, a position she temporarily vacated to serve as interim Provost & EVP starting in January 2026. Dr. Youngblade has served as both Associate Dean for Research and Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives in the College of Health and Human Sciences, roles in which she was responsible for leading specific initiatives to benefit the college.
Dr. Youngblade earned her Ph.D. and M.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from The Pennsylvania State University, and her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Oregon. She is an applied developmental scientist whose areas of specialization include child and adolescent socio-emotional development, access to healthcare for vulnerable youth, program evaluation, and analysis of developmental processes in educational and community contexts.
