Dear Rams:

As we do every spring in a joint message from the Offices of the Provost, Undergraduate Research and Artistry, and Inclusive Excellence, we invite you to participate in two upcoming opportunities for undergraduate students to showcase their research and creative work:

  • Multicultural Undergraduate Research, Art and Leadership Symposium (MURALS)
  • Celebrate Undergraduate Research and Creativity (CURC) Showcase

The events can enhance your academic experience, help you build community with your peers, and connect you to faculty mentors.

MURALS – Abstract Deadline is Sunday, March 3

The Multicultural Undergraduate Research Art and Leadership Symposium (MURALS) will be held in the Lory Student Center on March 29. Students will have faculty-guided support and present their scholarly work in any of the following areas: creative writing, visual and performing arts, entrepreneurship, S.T.E.M., social sciences, and humanities. There is still time to participate as a presenter.

The abstract deadline is Sunday, March 3, presentations and poster upload deadlines will follow later in March. Additional information, including deadlines and assistance with writing an abstract, can be found on MURALS 2024. MURALS contact: Jocelyn Lapham ([email protected]) or Bridgette Johnson ([email protected]).

CURC – Registration & Abstract Deadline is March 22

Registration for Celebrate Undergraduate Research and Creativity (CURC) 2024  is now open! This will be a hybrid event: online starting Monday, April 15, AND in person at the Lory Student Center on Thursday, April 18. You can register in one or more of seven categories, including visual art, performing art, film, oral presentation, research poster, community engagement/service-learning poster, and written work.

Registration and abstract submission close on March 22. Additional information can be found on the CURC Symposium platform. CURC contact: Josephine Gawtry ([email protected]) or Louise Allen ([email protected]).

Please take advantage of MURALS and/or CURC to expand your mind and explore your future! If you are not ready to present at MURALS or CURC this year, we encourage you to attend the sessions to support your fellow Rams and to learn how you can participate in 2025.

Sincerely,
