Reminder of New Faculty Welcome Luncheon–Sept 23 11:45-1:30
This message was sent to new CSU faculty on September 8, 2025.
Dear New CSU Faculty—
Hello New Faculty! Welcome to CSU! I’m Sue Doe, Professor of English, immediate past Chair of the Faculty Council, and Executive Director of the Institute for Learning and Teaching (TILT) at CSU. As you begin this exciting chapter of your academic journey, we at TILT are thrilled to invite you to our New Faculty Welcome Lunch – an opportunity to connect with colleagues from across campus and be welcomed into the CSU community. Many of you have already RSVP’d but it’s not too late to join us along with the Provost, Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, Vice Provost and Dean for Undergraduate Affairs, Vice President for Student Affairs and others!
Deans, Directors, and Department Heads, thank you for encouraging your new faculty to consider this opportunity.
Please follow the instructions below to register since an RSVP is required.
Event Details:
Date: Tuesday, September 23rd
Time: 12:00-1:30 PM (Doors Open at 11:45)
Location: University Ballroom and Lounge, 3rd Floor (North Side), Lory Student Center
Format: Lunch with welcome remarks and networking
RSVP Required: Please register through Bridge using this link – If you run into issues logging into Bridge for the first time, try being on the CSU VPN or using campus wifi.
Join us for lunch and a warm welcome from Provost and Executive Vice President Marion Underwood, connect with academic leaders, and enjoy a special musical performance by one of our academic leaders, plus participate in our annual New Faculty Community Art Activity (absolutely no artistic talent required, just bring your enthusiasm!).
This gathering is much more than networking; it’s your key introduction to the supportive academic community where your teaching and research endeavors will flourish. Come ready to connect and discover the collaborative spirit that makes CSU special.
Getting There: The University Ballroom is on the third floor, north side of the Lory Student Center. For easiest access, we recommend entering the LSC from the main north entrance near the transit center, then heading directly upstairs. Look for TILT staff in orange polos throughout the LSC—we’ll be happy to help you navigate!
We’re excited to meet you and celebrate your arrival at CSU! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Looking forward to welcoming you personally,
For the TILT Team,
Sue
