About the Search

The Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President has extended the timeline for an internal search for the next Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs (VPFA), driven by changes to the position description.

The Search Committee seeks candidates to provide leadership for faculty affairs and faculty success at CSU. The VPFA will develop and maintain programs and processes to support the development and success of faculty. The VPFA shapes faculty culture, supports academic excellence initiatives, and ensures the University can attract and retain top-tier talent in an increasingly competitive and changing higher education landscape.

The VPFA is an executive officer of the University and a key academic leader who champions faculty success across all career stages. Reporting directly to the Provost and Executive Vice President and serving on the Provost’s Leadership Team, the VPFA guides faculty development, policy, and strategic planning to foster academic excellence and a thriving faculty body. In collaboration with Deans, Department Chairs and Heads, and Faculty Council, the VPFA advances initiatives that support faculty recruitment, performance, promotion, tenure, and retention, while ensuring compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and federal regulations and upholding shared governance and academic freedom.

The search committee is now meeting to summarize feedback from the search process and will prepare a report for the Provost and Executive Vice President.
