Clarification on Interfolio use for the AY25-26 P&T Process

Use of Faculty180 (i.e., Interfolio’s Faculty Activity Reporting module) is strongly encouraged and supported but not required for the AY25-26 promotion and tenure cycle for either TTF or CCAF. It will be required for all future year promotions and annual reviews, which is why we strongly encourage adoption now.

What is Interfolio?

Interfolio is a Faculty Information System that supports faculty activity reporting, accreditation, faculty review, promotion and tenure workflows, and more. Interfolio is being implemented by the Provost’s Office to modernize, streamline, and improve faculty affairs processes.

Overview of User Roles in Interfolio

Institutional Administrators: administrators with University-level access in the Interfolio system. These administrators have access to all users and groups, templates, and cases across units.

Unit Administrators: unit administrators can exist at different levels, so there may be unit administrators at both the college and department levels. Users with Unit Administrator permissions are able to access documents, email candidates and committees, move cases forward or backward, create templates and forms, and can create cases for the units they have access to.

Committee Members: these users must be added to a committee to view a candidate’s packet and download documents on the cases that they have access to.

Committee Managers: these users have the same capabilities as a committee member and can also move cases backward or forward in the workflow (after the committee has finished reviewing it). They can email the candidate and committee members from within Interfolio and can record committee votes. In order to make a user a Committee Manager, a Unit Administrator must manually select them to serve this role.

Candidate: any user for whom a case has been opened in Interfolio — the faculty member being evaluated or reviewed.
